What’s on in Mount Isa in 2025?
2025 is shaping up to be another big year of Mt Isa events. From race days, rodeo events, camp drafts, comedy shows, motor shows and fishing competitions to the annual Mount Isa Show, there’s a range of local events to suit everyone. Read on to find out dates you need to know for 2025 Mount Isa events.
Mount Isa Race Days
The Mount Isa Race Club will once again be holding a regular series of race days throughout the first half the year:
- February Races on Saturday, February 22
- St Patrick’s Day Races on Saturday, March 8
- March Races on Saturday, March 22
- April Races on Saturday, April 26
- Mother’s Day Races on Saturday, May 10
- May Races on Saturday, May 24
- The Mount Isa Cup on Saturday, June 7
- June Races on Saturday, June 28.
More Mount Isa race days will be scheduled for the second half of the year, with dates still to be confirmed.
Whether you like a bet or not, Mount Isa race days are always great fun. They give you the chance to get a group of family or friends together, dress up for ‘fashions on the field’, and enjoy food and drinks.
Great Northern Rodeo Buckle Series
Buchanan Park will host this rodeo on Saturday, April 5 from 4pm. It will feature a diverse range of events including bull riding, team roping, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, rope and tie, ladies and junior barrel races, ladies and junior breakaway, junior steer riding, junior barrel race and poddy calf riding.
Mount Isa Show
This year’s annual Mount Isa Show will be held on Friday June 20 and Saturday June 21 at Buchanan Park. As usual, there will be plenty of entertainment for all ages. The show will feature sideshow alley rides, pavilion displays from a range of local businesses and community groups, live entertainment, equestrian events, pig races, a motocross display, demolition derby and Saturday night rodeo.
Mount Isa Campdraft
This year’s Mount Isa Campdraft will be held from Thursday 3 July to Sunday 6 July in 2025 at Lagoon Park on Bendall Drive in Healy. Both individual and team campdraft events will be on the program to showcase the outstanding horse riding skills of competitors.
Melbourne Comedy Showcase
Some of Melbourne’s best comedians are coming to the Mount Isa Civic Centre for one night only on Thursday, July 10, headlined by Lehmo and Brad Oakes. Topics that will feature during the two-hour show include parenting, family life, single life, health and brain diversity.
Mount Isa Motor Show
The annual Mount Isa Motor Show will be held on Sunday August 31 at Buchanan Park where you’ll see a great range of much-loved and show-stopping vehicles. It’s a must-see event for petrolheads.
North West Fishing Classic
The popular North West Fishing Classic will return for two weeks between October 10 and October 24 in 2025 at Lake Moondarra.
Fishing contests such as the Catch and Release Comp and the Casting Comp will feature at the event alongside a host of other activities including golf, volleyball, pluk-a-duk, live entertainment and fireworks. There will also be bar facilities, as well as a diverse range of food and market stalls.
